Video Of Locals Swimming In Flooded Uran Navi Mumbai Station Goes Viral
The Uran railway station in Navi Mumbai, which has yet to be opened, became famous when heavy rains on July 6 flooded the metro area. A video of a group of locals swimming in the flooded subway instantly went viral on the internet. This raised concerns about the progress of the station and the continuing delays in connecting the Kharkopar station to the municipality.
In the viral video, three young men are seen diving into the clogged pool of rainwater in the station concourse. The men were clearly having the time of their lives. With ease, the men turned the flooded public train station into their own personal swimming pool, using it for diving and swimming in the water.

The Central Railway commented on the video once it went viral
After the video became popular on Twitter, the Central Railway acknowledged the complicated situation. Authorities say the building where the incident occurred is still under construction and is not yet open to the public. Dr. Shivraj Manaspure, who is in charge of public relations for Central Railways, urged locals not to engage in such activities for the sake of their own safety.
According to The Times of India, he told everyone that both the Central Railway and the building authorities are working hard to finish the project and finally open the station. They want to prioritize the safety of future passengers and even feel comfortable using the train station once it is open.
