When Scott Gaede’s mother passed away in November 2020, their relationship took a different turn and Julie showed her support by staying by his side at the hospital.
The family went through a difficult time when Scott’s father died six months later. His daughter’s graduation ceremony was held at the same time as the activities.
Julie understood the value of family above all else as she sat through the funeral.
Julie and Scott decided to get married again to find clarity and closure after these difficult times. They did this by going on dates and taking a five-day trip to the Pacific Northwest.

“They became friends in a way they hadn’t experienced before. It was the most fun time we had in years, participating in activities we hadn’t done since I was maybe 12 or 13,” Caroline revealed.
Later, when Julie’s mother’s health worsened, Scott accelerated his Christmas proposal plans with his daughter’s help.
With the blessing of his ex-wife’s mother, Scott orchestrated a surprise proposal in downtown Cincinnati and the rest is history.
