Madhya Pradesh Resident Delivers 150 Tiffin Boxes Daily, Right On Schedule Every Day

The tiffin box service is thought to have started in Mumbai in the 1890s, and now, Mumbai’s dabbawalas have become the city’s very essence, supplying cooked tiffin meals at the proper time and location.

While Mumbai’s tiffin services are administered by a group of professionals, in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, one exceptional individual distributes tiffin boxes to approximately 150 people on his own, always on time and accurately. Here’s his story.

Meet Ramkumar, a Sindhi Basti native who has been distributing tiffin boxes for a decade, inspired by his maternal uncle. His everyday job consists of delivering food to numerous houses, shops, workplaces, and industries since the early hours of the morning, and he has never delivered the wrong tiffin to any of his customers.

Ramkumar has exceptional recall, which allows him to remember which luggage belongs to which person.

A family may occasionally replace the cover or bag of the tiffin box, but this never deters him from ensuring that the correct meal reaches its proper owner.

He gathers tiffin boxes from various homes, expertly balances them on his bicycle, and distributes the food to workplaces, businesses, and factories.

When asked about his motivation, Ramkumar stated that he believes strongly in the necessity of people receiving their meals on time, which motivates his dedication to punctuality.

Man has a lack of formal education

Despite his lack of formal education, his hard work and dedication to prompt delivery have brought him tremendous success and joy in his firm.

According to Professor Shivani, the HOD of BBA at Seva Sadan College, people generally acquire formal degrees in order to manage their time and work successfully.

Despite handling over a lakh tiffin boxes, the Mumbai dabbawalas have obtained a Six Sigma accreditation and have had only four complaints. Ramkumar, on the other hand, works alone, navigating the streets on his bicycle, and he never fails to be punctual or accurate.

He truly deserves to be recognised and thanked for his exceptional effort.
