According to police, the remains of a Canadian woman who had been missing for 12 years had been discovered on a rural farm. Remains belonging to Madison “Maddy” Scott, who had been missing for 12 years, were discovered in East Vanderhoof, in central British Columbia (BC). According to a May 29 RCMP statement obtained by Newsweek, the British Columbia Forensic Service verified the deceased’s identification, and police are currently executing a warrant at a remote site about 50 miles west of Prince George.

Scott was last seen at Hogsback Lake, where she was celebrating a friend of hers’ birthday, at around 3 am on May 28, 2011, when she was first reported missing. The place where her bones were found is not far from the lake.
In a statement released by the RCMP on May 28, they said: “Madison was a lively, free-spirited, devoted and kind person. In her free time, Madison spent a lot of time with her family and friends, playing hockey and softball and taking pictures. Madison would be 32 years old this year. She might even have married and given birth to children, and she would probably be completely absorbed in her profession.
