Man survives 40-foot fall after crashing into barrier of multi-story garage

A Russian man escaped death after surviving a harrowing 40ft fall when his Volkswagen Touareg crashed through the barrier of a multi-storey garage.

Surveillance footage captured the moment Evgeny Shamko, 40, crashed through a flimsy rail barrier on the fourth floor of a Moscow parking lot, driving through it with ease and sending the car tumbling to the ground.

The silver Volkswagen performed a corkscrew spin and landed nose-first before falling onto all four wheels in a violent motion.

Despite the devastating accident, Shamko emerged from the vehicle unharmed, the Mirror reports.

Additional images from the scene show the Volkswagen Touareg surrounded by debris as first responders studied the stricken vehicle, whose hood was covered and raised after absorbing the impact of the fall.

Shamko remained at the scene to give his statement to police, and a witness noted that he did not need medical attention from an ambulance that arrived at the parking lot.

Police were reportedly investigating Shamko’s blood alcohol levels after a fight was found in the wrecked Volkswagen Touareg.

This is not the first time a Russian man named Evgeny has been filmed falling four stories to the ground, nose first.

In August, Russian daredevil Evgeny Chebotarev, 32, went off a ramp of a four-story building attempting to jump from one roof to another, only for his Soviet-era vehicle to crash into the other building.
