Man with ‘420’ tattoo on head accused of beheading relative, flees with head arrested in San Francisco

A California man with a “420” head tattoo accused of decapitating a female relative and fleeing the scene with her head has been arrested in San Francisco, according to police.

Luis Aroyo-Lopez, 24, was arrested at the Transbay Terminal around 7:30 a.m. Saturday morning after San Francisco police officers recognized him from a description of a suspect wanted for murder in Santa Pink, KRON reported.

The arrest comes after a frantic search for Aroyo-Lopez after Santa Rosa police discovered the decapitated body of a woman inside a residence in the 2500 block of Pomo Trail around 3:40 p.m. Thursday.

The woman’s head was missing and police believe Aroyo-Lopez had taken it when he left the grisly scene on foot, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.

Police have not said whether the victim’s head has been recovered since his arrest.

Police said the woman, who has not yet been identified, is a relative of Aroyo-Lopez, although her relationship to him was not immediately clear.

After he was identified as a suspect considered “armed and dangerous,” police released a photo of him, revealing his notable “420” tattoo and a marijuana leaf on the left side of his head.

Aroyo-Lopez was recently released from state prison and placed on post-release community supervision. He was previously jailed on assault with a deadly weapon and weapons charges in an unrelated incident, police said.

Additional information regarding his arrest will be provided soon, police said.
