Manushi Chhillar was born on May 14, 1997 in Rohtak, Haryana. His father, Mr. Mitra Basu Chhillar, is a scientist with the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and his mother, Ms. Neelam Chhillar, is an assistant professor and head of the department of Neurochemistry at the Institute of Behavior Human and Related Sciences.
Manushi completed her schooling from St. Thomas School, New Delhi. He took admission from Miranda House, New Delhi, but cleared the All India Pre-Medical Examination (NEET) and obtained his MBBS degree from Bhagat Phool Singh Medical College, Sonipat.

Chhillar was one of the finalists of Fashion Big Bazaar’s Campus Princess 2016, while representing the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). This was her first step into the world of pageantry. After this, she won Femina Miss India Haryana in 2017. She was crowned Femina Miss India, 2017 at Yash Raj Studio. After winning the Miss India title, she was eligible to represent India on the international platform at Miss World 2017.
On November 18, 2017, the Miss World pageant was organized in Sanya, China. Chhillar was crowned with the title of Miss World 2017 and was crowned by former Miss World 2016 champion, Stephanie Del Valle of Puerto Rico. Along with this title she was crowned jointly with Beauty with a Purpose sponsored by Project Shakti. The Shakti Project was an awareness campaign on Menstrual Hygiene. With this title she became the sixth Indian woman to win the Miss World title.

Manushi will be making her Bollywood debut with the historical drama film Prithviraj, as Princess Samyukta of the Kannauj dynasty. The male lead will be Akshay Kumar. This film will release on Diwali 2021.
