Mikaila Banham, also known as Kala Banham, is an American singer, songwriter, and influencer. She gained fame after appearing as a contestant on the 23rd season of NBC’s singing competition show, The Voice. The show is judged by four big-name figures: Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton, Chance the Rapper and Niall Horan.

Banham, 24, is a native of Windermere, Florida. He graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in public relations.

Kala Banham is the daughter of Lesz Banham and Riccinni Beloso. Her father is the chief financial officer of Hong Kong Disneyland, while her mother is a Zumba trainer born in the Philippines. Her parents currently live in Hong Kong.

While studying, Banham became an integral member of an a cappella performance group called Gestalt. This group won first place in the south quarterfinals of the International Collegiate A Cappella Championship in 2019, and Banham was named featured soloist.
In addition to releasing their album “Body Memory,” the group also released a single called “Blackout” that won a 2020 Contemporary A Cappella Recording Award for Best Gospel Song, with Banham nominated as a solo artist.
Banham has also been using her singing talents for several other projects.
From 2014 to 2017 he was a worship leader at Kensington Church in Orlando.
