Although a Union minister has denied the speculation, social media players are still at it. Twitter users, or X for the truly experienced, have backed up their theories with the fact that in the country’s constitution, both “India” and “Bharat” are used interchangeably to refer to the nation.
While some people advocate changing the country’s name to ‘Bharat’, citing the colonial origins behind the name ‘India’, others argue that such a change is unnecessary and inspired simply by a political vendetta.
