The infamous flag lowering ceremony, performed by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) and Pakistan Rangers, consists of complex dance-like movements and surprisingly high leg lifts.

This daily practice attracts thousands of people from both sides of the border, who gather to watch the spectacle.

Who posted the viral wedding video?

On the other hand, a recent viral video showed a group of men dressed as Pakistani army personnel participating in the ritual of trampling at a wedding, leaving viewers curious and entertained.

“No need to travel to Wagah! Just get married. Or go to a wedding! Have fun! The second option is the safest!” read the caption of a video posted on microblogging site ‘X’, in which men perform the stomping technique and are paid, similar to traditional drummers at weddings.

Although this happened at a Pakistani wedding, an Indian user posted it, causing various reactions from the public.

How did people react on the Internet?

“We should also do this: Hamare yahan Shadi, Kitty Party ke manda liye jaate hain,” one person chimed in. Another joked, “A post-retirement starter idea for BSF personnel,” while a third jokingly referenced Pakistan’s economic situation and said, “They monetised it given the state of their economy.”

In a contrasting setting, Anupam Kher warmly greeted soldiers and fans when he visited the Attari-Wagah border to attend the Beating Retreat event. The Kashmir Files actor took center stage in a video shared on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter), addressing the gathered crowd with ‘Mere pyaare Bharat wasiyo’.

He started singing ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram’ and even sang the song ‘Dil Diya Hai Jaan Bhi Denge’ from Karma. Anupam considered her participation in the ceremony an “honour and privilege”.
