However, if you’re eager to try out this new feature, the requirement is to be a part of the Microsoft Launcher beta, as that’s where Microsoft is kicking off the rollout of Bing Chat.
In an observation initially made by @XenoPanther at X (formerly known as Twitter), the implementation of Bing Chat within Microsoft Launcher mirrors its functionality in the Edge and Bing mobile apps. Notable features like the ability to customize the tone of conversations and use voice commands instead of typing remain intact. Notably, the user interface retains its familiar layout, consistent with what’s seen in the Bing and Edge mobile apps.
This progression underscores Microsoft’s strategy to integrate Bing Chat into a variety of popular consumer-focused applications. It’s a journey that spanned from Microsoft Edge to Skype and now culminates in Microsoft Launcher. While Bing Chat is making its way into several Microsoft offerings on mobile, it’s essential to note that Surface Duo users won’t be able to take advantage of this functionality at this time.

Unlike most Android phones, where launcher updates are included within the monthly system updates, Microsoft chooses to update Microsoft Launcher separately. Consequently, this approach creates disparities in the availability of new features between Surface Duo devices and other Android phones.
This discrepancy extends to the introduction of Bing Chat in Microsoft Launcher. Currently, Surface Duo users are limited to interacting with the Microsoft chatbot via the Bing app, Edge, and Skype.
