Missouri Teen Allegedly Shot Man 15 Times, Hid Body in Air Mattress

A Missouri teenager is accused of shooting a man at least 14 times and then hiding his body in an air mattress.

Jackson Pierce, 18, was charged with murder for shooting Dalton Coleman, 23, during an altercation at a home in St. Peters on Monday night, a probable cause affidavit obtained by The Post revealed.

Pierce and Coleman spent time together Monday along with an unidentified third person, who is listed as a witness, and an unidentified minor, according to court documents.

The witness eventually dropped the trio off at the St. Peters home that night, but then received a call from Pierce claiming that Coleman was exhibiting “erratic behavior” and asking for “unknown belongings.”

The witness then tried to calm both men and asked Pierce to move some “valuables, including a firearm” from the kitchen to a bedroom, according to the affidavit.

A few minutes later, Pierce called the witness again and allegedly confessed to shooting and killing Coleman.

When the witness asked what had happened, Pierce claimed that Coleman had forced his way into the bedroom and tried to hit him, leading to a struggle over the gun.

“The witness stated that Pierce informed him during the struggle, [Coleman] It was shot. “The witness stated that Pierce informed him that the victim was shot 3 or 4 times but did not fall, so Pierce continued shooting him,” the document explains.

In total, Pierce told the witness he believed he shot Coleman 14 times.

When the witness told Pierce to contact police, the teen allegedly refused.

The witness then reached out to his attorney and contacted the St. Peters Police Department.

A SWAT unit later responded to the home and arrested Pierce and the juvenile at the scene.

“Dog, I should have called the police myself, I should have called the police myself, bro… I’m so dumb,” Pierce allegedly said while sitting in the police car.

Authorities eventually used a drone to search the interior of the home and found Coleman’s body inside “a rolled-up air mattress that had been tied tightly and wrapped with a piece of electrical cord inside an upstairs bedroom closet,” according to the affidavit. .

During his interview with police, Pierce confessed that he and the juvenile tried to clean up evidence of the shooting “using towels and dish soap on the carpet.”

Initial autopsy results confirmed that Coleman died from approximately 15 gunshot wounds to the abdomen, hand and face, authorities said.

Pierce now faces charges of second-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with physical evidence, court documents revealed.

He remains in jail on $1 million cash-only bail.

The minor also remains detained.

Pierce’s next bond hearing is scheduled for Jan. 17.

Coleman’s death comes less than a year after she welcomed a son, tributes on social media indicated.

“This is literally a nightmare I can’t wake up from,” the mother of Coleman’s son wrote in a Facebook update Wednesday, along with photos of the couple in happier times.

“Justice needs to be served,” he wrote above a separate post of Pierce’s mugshot.
