Election date of the Assembly of Deputies 2023
The mandate of the MP’s Legislative Assembly is scheduled to end on January 6, 2024; Therefore, it is planned that elections will be held before November 2023 to elect the new legislative assembly. The most tentative date for the state elections is November 28, 2023.
In the previous elections, the INC party formed the state government and Kamal Nath became the chief minister of the state. But the state government took a U-turn on March 22, 2020, when 22 Congress Party MLAs resigned from the assembly and crossed over to the BJP.
This resulted in the destruction of the ruling Congress party in MP, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan became the new Chief Minister. The current Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, has been the longest-serving CM of the state.

There was talk that Congress and BSP were forming an alliance for the Vidhan Sabha elections, but Mayawati opted to fight the elections with maximum number of candidates. According to reports, 105 candidates have contested for the elections from Rewa district, followed by Satna and Bhopal.
While addressing reporters after the MP Assembly election warm-up meeting, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said the party would win 150 seats out of the 230 Vidhan Sabha seats in MP. He further added that the Karnataka result would be repeated in the MP state. But when the media asked about the CM’s candidate Rahul Gandhi, without revealing anything, he highlighted the party’s goal of winning the elections.
So far, the party has made five promises, including the old pension scheme, free electricity up to 100 units, cash assistance of Rs 1,500 for women, a farm loan waiver and an LPG cylinder for Rs 500.
On the other hand, current Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, addressing the rally, said that the Bhartiya Janta Party would win more than 200 seats in the Vidhan Sabha elections held later in the year. Both the BJP and the Congress are sparing no effort to win the election.
