Former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows turned himself in to authorities in Atlanta Thursday afternoon on charges of trying to overturn the results of the 2020 Georgia election.
Meadows, 64, became the 10th of 19 co-defendants on record in the case as part of a 41-count indictment filed by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis on Aug. 14.
The former Republican congressman from North Carolina was released on $100,000 bail after posing for a serious mugshot.
Meadows has tried to take the case against him to federal court, but was unable to persuade a federal judge to stay the order to turn over Willis until his removal request could be heard Monday.

Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark had also requested the stay until his attempt to take the case to federal court could be heard.
US District Judge Steve Jones denied both requests Wednesday, allowing the Atlanta proceedings to continue until a federal court formally assumes jurisdiction. Clark has yet to turn himself in to authorities.
Former Black Voices for Trump director Harrison Floyd also turned himself in shortly after Meadows’ booking on Thursday. He faces three charges and will remain in the Fulton County Jail after failing to negotiate a consent bond.
Floyd was charged earlier this year with assault on a federal officer after he allegedly punched an FBI agent “chest to chest” twice and then poked him in the face with his finger, according to an affidavit filed in federal court. from Maryland.

Meadows faces two counts in the indictment brought by an Atlanta grand jury: violating Georgia’s racketeering statute and soliciting a public official to violate his or her oath of office.

Trump, 77, left his golf resort in Bedminster, New Jersey, shortly after the Meadows reservation and was expected to turn himself in to Fulton County authorities at 7:30 p.m. He will be released on a $200,000 bond.
