Murder-Suicide Columbus State
According to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan, two students from Columbus State University died in an apparent homicide-suicide that occurred close to the main campus. Around 10:40 a.m., according to Bryan, Nathaniel Janik, 25, was discovered dead next to the car while Gisela Pierce, 20, was discovered dead in a car. Bryan stated that both pupils would undergo an autopsy. According to a statement the university sent, it was informed of a “gun-related incident” on Main Campus close to the Lenoir Annex area at around 10:10 a.m. The statement read, “Columbus State University Police are currently looking into the matter in collaboration with the Columbus Police Department and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.”
