The Spanish artist, Alicia Framis, is preparing to unite her life with a hologram created with Artificial Intelligence (AI), marking a milestone in her project “The Hybrid Couple”.
Framis, recognized for his avant-garde approach at the intersection of art and science, embarks on a new venture: marrying “AiLex”, his virtual boyfriend.

In love with a hologram
Framis describes her lover: “My boyfriend is a mixture of previous relationships” and assures that he “can generate responses and emotions.” She knows they won’t be the perfect couple, but admits that she doesn’t want to be.
“You can fall in love, you come to love it and you can even miss it (…) deep down it is something that has life,” he responded to the Spanish program Más Vale Tarde.

For Alicia Framis, her thing with her AiLex hologram is like what everyone else has with their cell phone: there is a codependency on the phone, it is a love-hate relationship.
This unique fusion of art, technology and emotions will culminate in a groundbreaking wedding in Rotterdam, Netherlands, next year.
The boyfriend and the AI
The Spanish press has reported on this news relationship. Alicia, at 56, is going to become the first woman to marry a holographic sculpture created from profiles of her previous relationships.
The artist told El Periódico that his boyfriend is “an intelligent hologram” and that he created him not only to be a projection, “but to be someone who could answer me.”
The wedding will not be “fictional” but they do explain it as a performance, called “The first woman to marry a hologram.”
