Days after the Alabama teen disappeared during a class trip to Aruba, van der Sloot wrote to someone named “David G,” stating, “My dad got a boat two days later,” the Messenger reported Saturday.

Van der Sloot was extradited to the United States in June to face fraud and extortion charges related to the disappearance of 18-year-old Holloway.
She was last seen leaving a bar with then-17-year-old Van der Sloot, who was identified as a suspect in her disappearance but never charged in connection with her death.
Van der Sloot, now 35, has been in prison in Peru for more than a decade after pleading guilty to the May 2010 murder of student Stephany Flores, 21, whom he strangled in a Lima casino exactly five years after Holloway’s disappearance.
Holloway was 18 when she was last seen leaving a bar in the Caribbean nation with van der Sloot, then 17, who was never charged in her disappearance.
In the 18 years since Holloway disappeared, Aruba officials have investigated van der Sloot’s claims that he dumped the teen’s body into the sea on several occasions, an investigator told the Messenger.
“It always seemed more likely that she had been taken on a boat,” an unnamed investigator from Aruba told the outlet. “But the key is to find out who would have led him to do it. “He and his father did not have their own boat.”
While officials have been unable to confirm the theory, van der Sloot himself previously claimed to have dumped Holloway’s body into the sea.

During a hidden camera interview with Dutch journalists Peter De Vries and Patrick van der Eem in 2008, van der Sloot said Holloway suffered a seizure while they were having sex on the beach and died.

Since her disappearance, van der Sloot has provided a wide and contradictory range of stories to explain what happened to the missing teenager.

In May 2010, van der Sloot allegedly promised to reveal the location of Holloway’s body in exchange for $250,000.
He later took a lawyer for Natalee’s mother, Beth Holloway, to the site where he claimed her remains were hidden after receiving a $25,000 down payment, but then backtracked on the bizarre story.
In an email sent from the same address, van der Sloot later admitted that he had made up the whole story.
