NMMS State Registration Date

Each state will announce its own NMMS Program registration date. NMMS Rate 2023

NMMS Exam 2023

The selection of eligible candidates for the National Means and Merit Scholarship Scheme is done by conducting a test at one stage of Class 8. This exam has two papers.

  • Mental Ability Test (MAT)
    • This test is carried out to evaluate the student’s verbal and non-verbal metacognitive ability.
    • This test consists of 90 frequently asked questions about hidden figures, analogy, pattern perception, classification, etc.
  • Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT)
    • This test consists of subjects taught in Class 7 and Class 8.
    • This test consists of 90 frequently asked questions from subjects including mathematics, science, English, social sciences, etc.

For each of these tests, students are assigned a duration of 90 minutes. Additionally, students must pass both the MAT and SAT with a minimum total score of 40%. However, for students belonging to SC/ST, the minimum aggregate marks required are 32%.

NMMS 2023 Eligibility

Students must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned in the NMMS guidelines. These include-

  • To be eligible, students must have secured a minimum of 55% marks in their 7th generation exams. However, ST/SC students will receive 5% relaxation in these marks.
  • Must be a regular student in Govt./Govt. Assisted/Local Schools
  • Parents’ annual income should not exceed INR 350,000.

How to Submit NMMS 2023 Application Form

To qualify for the scholarship, students must pass the NMMS scholarship exam. While to take the exam, students must complete their registration on the National Scholarship Portal. After declaration of NMMS registration dates, follow these steps:

  • Go to the National Scholarship Portal and complete the registration by clicking on “New Registration” in the Applicant Corner.
  • Verify the OTP and enter other details like bank details, Aadhaar number, etc.
  • Upload your distribution certificate and your parents’ income certificate.
  • Send the application.
