Optimism Vs. Pessimism: Optical Illusion Challenge Exposes Your Inclination Through Initial Focus

An optical illusion is a visual phenomenon that deceives the observer’s perception and causes them to see something that doesn’t match reality. These illusions exploit the brain’s natural tendency to make assumptions and interpret visual information in predictable ways, sometimes leading to misinterpretations of what is actually being seen.

Optical illusions can occur due to various factors, such as the brain’s attempts to fill in missing information, its sensitivity to contrast and colour, and its reliance on past experiences to make sense of current stimuli. They often challenge our ability to accurately judge size, distance, motion, and other visual attributes.

Take a peek at this optical illusion to see if it changes your outlook on life. Have a look.

What do you see first in this optical illusion?

BrightSide, a YouTube channel, first shared the illusion.

“How about a reading test?” the narrator suggested before revealing the hoax.

There are two words in the image, yet it may appear to be only one at first.

The dark blue letters spell out “GOOD” in capital characters, while the pink negative space within them spells out “EVIL.”

BrightSide claims that the words you see initially provide information about your personality.

If you saw GOOD first

“An optimist will always see the ‘good’ first and probably won’t see anything else,” remarked the narrator. An optimistic person generally possesses a positive outlook on life and tends to focus on hopeful and positive aspects of situations, even in the face of challenges or difficulties.

Optimists maintain a hopeful and positive attitude, believing that things will generally work out for the best. They approach situations with a mindset that emphasises opportunities and possibilities.

They hold a sense of hope and anticipation for the future. They believe that their efforts and actions can lead to positive outcomes and success.

If you saw EVIL first

Meanwhile, if you recognised “evil” right away, “you might find it difficult to trust people, at least at first,” the narrator warned. While those two phrases stood out for the majority of individuals, several commenters claimed to see other words.

Individuals who find it difficult to trust people often exhibit personality traits that reflect caution, scepticism, and guardedness in their interactions with others. Their behavior and attitudes are influenced by their past experiences, beliefs, and internal dynamics.

These individuals are cautious when forming relationships. They may take more time to get to know someone before opening up or sharing personal information.

They often keep their emotions guarded, not revealing their feelings easily. They may fear being vulnerable and getting hurt.
