Two planes reportedly skidded off a runway in Tanzania, East Africa, just hours apart.
The first was a plane traveling with about 30 passengers from Zanzibar to Kikoboga in Mikumi National Park on Tuesday local time.
While attempting to land, its main landing gear collapsed, causing the aircraft to skid off the runway and come to rest on the nose gear, belly of the fuselage, and both wings. The herald of aviation reported.
Then, about six hours later, another plane with the same number of passengers was taking off from Kikoboga bound for Zanzibar when it suffered a nose gear collapse, skidded off the runway and its wing collided with a building, according to the publication.

No injuries were reported, but both planes were said to have suffered substantial damage.
Tourists travel to Mikumi National Park to see wild animals such as zebras, lions, elephants, hippos and giraffes, as well as more unique animals such as the sable antelope, African wild dog, blue wildebeest and Lichtenstein’s hartebeest.
Tanzania’s National Parks Authority confirmed the incidents, in which two planes independently suffered gear collapses and runway excursions, according to The herald of aviation.
An image of the scene after the second incident shows the first plane on the grass as smoke billows from what appears to be the second plane in the background, next to a building.
Tanzania Times reported that the runway remained open and that operations were proceeding normally, but that the Aircraft Accident Investigation Branch of the Ministry of Transportation would further investigate what happened.
