He started chanting Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram and Shri Krishna Govind Hare Murari. As time passed, the entire other world abandoned him. When he reached the ninth grade, he decided that he had to choose the path of spirituality.

Shri Preman and Govind Sharan Ji Maharaj left their home when he was only 13 years old. He went to the other sanyasis and they called him Ananda Brahmachari. It is said that he became very fond of and accepted the path that God led him. Later, he too was then named Anand Shav. Most of Maharaj ji’s life was spent on the banks of the Ganges River. He always lived on the banks of the Ganga ji to sit in deep dhyana and spirituality.
However, living away from the comfort of home was never easy for him. He used to wear few clothes since the money he had was very less. There was also no certainty what food he would get. He used to eat what he believed God sent him. No matter how cold it was, Maharaj ji used to plunge into Ganga ji three times. We also learned that Maharaj ji used to stay hungry and thirsty for many days and only concentrate on his dhyana.
