The woman who spent 43 days on the run after allegedly killing professional cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson in a jealous rage attempted another bold escape from her Texas jail on Wednesday.
Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, had just finished a doctor’s appointment and two correctional officers were leading her back to the transport vehicle “when she ran,” said Travis County sheriff’s spokeswoman Kristen Dark.
The alleged killer ran more than a block to a residential area before officers were able to recapture her.
It’s unclear whether Armstrong was wearing shackles or handcuffs when she separated from the officers, but the department said the officers did not draw their firearms and were able to keep them in their sights throughout their brief escape.
She was taken to a hospital for examination after the incident and returned to her Austin jail cell.
Armstrong’s attorney, Rick Cofer, did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment; A staff member who answered the phone said the case is under a gag order.

Armstrong is awaiting trial for the shooting death of Wilson, 25, in May 2022, when the professional cyclist was in Austin for a race she was among the favorites to win.
Prosecutors believe the former yoga teacher killed Wilson after discovering that her then-boyfriend Colin Strickland, also a professional cyclist, dated the victim while she was at odds with Armstrong.
Armstrong was questioned by police but fled the country almost immediately.

The accused murderer drastically altered her face and used several aliases as she moved around the country while trying to establish herself as a yoga instructor.
He pleaded not guilty to a charge of first-degree murder during an arraignment in July. He faces up to 99 years in prison if he is convicted.
It is unclear whether Armstrong would face additional charges for his latest escape attempt.
