DES MOINES, Iowa – The first super PAC supporting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis for the Republican presidential nomination is cutting staff after Monday’s Iowa caucuses.
“Starting at 6 in the morning [sic] This morning I found out that I am now a free agent due to budget cuts beyond my control,” George Andrews, DeSantis caucus district director, posted on LinkedIn on Wednesday.
It was not immediately clear how many people were affected by the reduction, but a source familiar with the situation described the layoffs as “planned” and noted that some staff were transferred to other early voting states from Iowa.
Andrews’ announcement was first reported by the New York Times.

In the lead-up to Iowa, the super PAC hosted events across the Hawkeye State, with the governor of Florida as a “special guest.”
