Works by Robert Noakes
Noakes collaborated with the band Lindisfarne, who released two of his songs on their albums: “Together Forever” on their second album, Fog on the Tyne, and “Turn a Deaf Ear” on their debut, Nicely Out of Tune. On her album Do Right Woman, which Noakes also performed on, Barbara Dickson also included “Turn a Deaf Ear” as a recording. On Gerry Rafferty’s debut solo album, Can I Have My Money Back, Noakes also contributed guitar and backing vocals, most notably on the song “Mary Skeffington”, which was written in tribute to Rafferty’s mother. After these recordings, he joined Stealers Wheel as one of the first members, but left the band before they finished recording their debut album.
