Reddit user shares bitter experience of visiting with an Indian accent
One dissatisfied customer, who wished to remain anonymous, commented on Reddit: “Tasteless food and very expensive for the British palate.
Surprisingly, our waiter was very rude and spoke as if he was doing us a favor by explaining the complicated names of the dishes to ourselves. I didn’t even smile once hahaha. “I don’t know how this place came to be ranked as the best in India.”
What went wrong?
Discontent seemed to arise from multiple aspects of the dining experience. Firstly, customers were taken aback by the high prices: a meal consisting of 1 starter, 1 main course, 1 side dish, 4 breads and 1 dessert cost a staggering 7,000 rupees, not including the service charge.
Many felt that these prices were unjustified given the quality of the food and the service provided. Additionally, several diners reported that the food lacked the depth of flavor and authenticity expected from a restaurant of Indian Accent’s caliber.
They claimed that the cuisine seemed adapted to the Western palate rather than staying true to its Indian roots. However, perhaps the biggest complaint expressed by customers was the poor service they received during their visit.
Many claimed to have had a similar experience.
Many other users expressed the same concerns. One user wrote: “I have been there several times. The service experience you mention seems very strange. You should have written it in comments or conveyed the same to the manager in charge. You paid a considerable amount and should receive good service for that. Please contact them regarding the same.”
“I had the same experience. The food was downright bad,” wrote another.
Some also disagree with the user, with one user praising the restaurant, adding: “I had the best dining experience of my life here. It could be that you had a bad day or your expectations were completely different.”
