U.S. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) was cleared of her husband’s claim that she punched him in the face during an altercation at a Colorado restaurant on Saturday, according to local police.
Jayson Boebart initially alleged domestic violence after the calamitous couple had a public fight at a restaurant in Silt called Miner’s Claim, located in Boebart’s district.
Jayson initially told investigators that during the altercation his ex-wife hit him in the face, but the Silt Police Department said in a statement Wednesday that he has since retracted his claim.
The police department also said there was no surveillance video at the restaurant and no witnesses came forward.
“Due to a lack of evidence, allegations of domestic violence against Rep. Lauren Boebert are unfounded and the investigation into Rep. Lauren Boebert is closed,” police said.
Jayson Boebert was arrested Tuesday after his son Tyler, 18, also told Garfield County Sheriff’s deputies that his father allegedly pushed him to the ground. The teen alleged that his father then put his thumb in his mouth as if he were going to “pull out his tooth,” according to an arrest warrant obtained by The Post.
Tyler Boebert also told officers that his father had a rifle, according to court documents obtained by The Post.

Jayson Boebert was arrested for misdemeanor prohibited use of weapons, harassment and third-degree assault for the incident with his son.
He also faces misdemeanor charges in connection with the altercation at the restaurant where he initially claimed his ex-wife punched him in the face.
Boebert was also arrested for disorderly conduct, third-degree trespassing and obstructing a peace officer in connection with her dispute with the congresswoman, according to court records. He was released Tuesday, according to jail records.

The maximum penalty Jayson faces is for the trespassing charge, which can carry up to ten days in jail, a fine, or both, the Daily Beast reported. A jail official told the outlet that Jayson was released on $2,500 bail.
Jayson Boebert did not immediately respond to the Post’s request for comment.
Lauren Boebert’s campaign released a statement Sunday saying she “did not punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. “I will consult with my attorney regarding the false accusations he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options.”
The Republican lawmaker told police that her ex-husband had been drinking tequila shots even before they arrived at the Miner’s Claim restaurant on January 6. She said they initially had an argument about their “new partners” and the fight continued at the restaurant.
Jayson Boebert allegedly yelled “shut the fuck up” at officers, according to court documents. When officers attempted to escort him out of the busy restaurant, an intoxicated Jayson Boebert continued cursing at the officers and allegedly used his hands to hold on to the door.
“You’re all screwed,” he yelled at the officers, according to a report written by one of the Silt police officers who was at the scene.
Jayson Boebert told the Denver Post that she called police Sunday morning to say she did not want to press charges.
“I don’t want anything to happen,” Jayson Boebert said.
“She and I were working through a difficult conversation.”
Boebert, a Republican who has served two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing the western side of Colorado, announced on Dec. 27 that she would switch congressional districts this year to run for a seat representing the eastern side of the state. .
The seat is open with the retirement of Republican Rep. Ken Buck.
In her current district, Boebert likely would have faced a Democratic challenger who nearly defeated her in the 2022 general election and who has far surpassed her.
In September, Boebert and a guest were kicked out of a “Beetlejuice” musical performance in Denver after guests complained they were vaping, singing, using phones and causing a disturbance. He later apologized.
In her relatively short time in Washington, Boebert has built a national profile and has aligned herself with the far right of the Republican Party.
His assertive style has grabbed headlines, most famously when he interrupted President Joe Biden during his 2022 State of the Union address.
