64-YO Worker Tears Up After Staff Surprises Him With Birthday Cake

However, for one elderly worker turning 64 years old, it had been quite a while since someone had celebrated his birthday with him. So, when his colleagues at the restaurant he worked at brought him a cake with candles lit on top of it, it made all the difference in his life.
The voiceover in the video introduced the man as Leo, a worker at Big E’s Sports Grill. The staff at the restaurant knew that the elderly man had not celebrated his birthday in years. In an attempt to surprise him, the staff prepared a cake and presented it in front of him while he was still hard at work.
On locating his colleagues bringing in the candle-lit cake, Leo could not stop himself and let tears fall on his wrinkled cheek.
The staff made a special cake for him and sang him the birthday song while surprising him with it. Leo stood still in shock and delight as tears trickled down his face. The staff cheered for him and told him how much they loved him and that he was family to the staff working at the restaurant.

People on the internet were also emotional after watching the elderly man’s reaction to a simple birthday cake. Many wanted to support the man in some way, as someone suggested they open a GoFundMe for him and donate money to help him finally retire. While others applauded the staff for their adorable gesture for the old man.

The viral video raised the question of retirement among many users on the internet, as they wondered why the elderly man would still be working shifts at the restaurant at the age of 64.
