San Francisco rapper and business owner releases diss track criticizing city leaders over crime: ‘A big city in a land of zombies’

A San Francisco-based rapper and business owner released a new “diss track” criticizing the city and its mayor for an ongoing crime wave and a rise in anti-Asian attacks.

Chino Yang, 35, released the song “San Francisco Our Home” last week criticizing Mayor London Breed and local leaders after his own Alamo Square-area restaurant, Kung Food, was robbed by seventh time since the pandemic.

“I have no choice but to record this song,” Yang says at the beginning of the song’s music video, partially filmed at his Chinese restaurant.

Yang is known for his performances on the popular Chinese talent show “The Rap of China” and similar shows.

He said it’s a struggle to support his family amidst thefts and rising crime.

He blames Breed for the crime levels in the Bay Area and insults the mayor in several lyrics.

“Everyone let me see your hands in the air,” Yang sings. “Now raise your two middle fingers to the mayor.

“Now, London Breed, you’re nothing but a clown,” he raps in another line. “When we really needed you, you were never there. You have turned this great city into a zombie land.”

Yang, who grew up in San Francisco, references the recent carjackings that have plagued the city and shows snippets of news segments about the crime wave.

“If you go to San Francisco, make sure you don’t leave anything in your car. If you go to San Francisco, make sure you don’t leave money in your bag,” she sings, referring to lyrics from the 1960s popular song “San Francisco” by Scott McKenzie.

Breed’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
