Career
Saumya started her career as a model. In 2006, she was first runner-up in Femina Cover Girl. The same year she also made her television debut with the series Aisa Des Hai Mera. She gained wide popularity with the Imtiaz Ali-directed Bollywood film Jab We Met, in which she played the character of Kareena Kapoor’s sister, Roop Dhillon. She later hosted many television shows like Dance India Dance, Bournvita Quiz Contest, LG Mallika-e-Kitchen, Entertainment Ki Raat (Season-2), etc. She also received the Best Presenter award for Dance India Dance.
In 2015, Saumya received immense fame with her role as Anita Vibhuti Narayan in the television comedy Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai. in front of Aasif Sheikh. Although on August 21, 2020 she quit Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain!
