Seattle bus crashes into car and building, killing 1, injuring 12

A Seattle bus collided with a car and mounted a sidewalk, struck a pedestrian and crashed into a brick building Saturday afternoon in a chain reaction that left one dead and a dozen injured.

The crash in Belltown at the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Battery Street killed the pedestrian and left the driver of a red sedan in critical condition, Seattle police said.

The sedan was heading south on Fifth Avenue when it collided with the public bus traveling east on Battery Street just before 3:30 p.m., according to police.
