Sidharth Malhotra was conceived and raised in Delhi, India, in a Hindu Punjabi family, the son of Sunil, a former captain in the Merchant Navy, and Rimma Malhotra, a homemaker. Sidharth Malhotra studied at the Don Bosco School and the Delhi Public Naval College and graduated from the Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of the University of Delhi. At the age of 18 he started modeling. Although he was successful, he decided to quit after 4 years because he was not satisfied with the profession.
Later that year, Sidharth Malhotra performed at a charity event with Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and Huma Qureshi to collect money for flood victims in Uttarakhand. Also present were Dhawan, Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur, Shraddha Kapoor and Qureshi. Along with Johar, actors Dhawan, Bhatt, Roy Kapur, Katrina Kaif, Parineeti Chopra and musician Badshah, participated in the Dream Team 2016 tour in August 2016, performing in various American cities.
