Career
Somashri began her acting career by first appearing in Star Jalsha’s supernatural television series Nojor, where she played the role of Ananya “Anu” Singha Roy. The series was created by Surinder Films and was also a remake of the Hindi series Nazar that aired on Star Plus in 2019. After debuting in the acting industry, she appeared in a few series such as the Bengali historical drama series Karunamoyee Rani Rashmoni as Prasanno (2019) and the romantic family drama series Ki Kore Bolbo Tomay as Trisha (2019).
After a brief career as an actor, Somashri gained popularity for playing the recurring role of Rai in the popular Bengali television romantic drama soap opera Shubho Drishti, aired on Colors Bangla. This series was directed by Rahul Mukherjee. In 2023, Somashri appeared in Zee Bangla drama series Mon Dite Chai as Koyel Basu alongside Arunima Halder and Writwik.
