Suchana Seth is the CEO of Mindful AI Lab and hails from Chennai. She founded the company Mindful Al Lab in 2020. On January 9, 2024, Suchana was arrested for allegedly killing her four-year-old son in Goa. According to sources, Suchana Seth traveled with the body to Chitradurga in Karnataka on Sunday night and was arrested in Goa.
Personal life
Suchana married Venkat Raman in 2010, however, the marriage ended in divorce in 2020. Together they have a son who was born in 2019, whose name has not been revealed.
Education Qualification
Suchana Seth attended DAV Girls Higher Secondary School in Gopalpuram, Chennai. During her stay there, she actively participated in various activities, serving as house captain and culture secretary. She excelled in competitions, debates, creative writing and art, winning awards in these areas. In 10th standard, she received CBSE Certificates of Merit in Sanskrit, Social Science and English and also won the National Talent Search Scholarship.
After school, he earned a bachelor’s degree. in Physics (Honours) with additional subjects in Mathematics and Computer Science at Bhawanipur Education Society College in Kolkata from 2003 to 2006, where she graduated with first class honours. During college, she participated in testing activities.
After her university studies, Suchana completed a postgraduate diploma in Sanskrit, achieving first rank, at the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture from 2005 to 2008.
Later, he completed an M.Sc. in Physics, with specialization in Plasma Physics with Astrophysics, from the University of Calcutta from 2006 to 2008, again obtaining a First Class qualification.
In addition to his formal education, he undertook courses at NIIT, obtaining certificates in Digital Printing and Publishing and Digital Web Authoring with expertise in Visual Communication Concepts, MS Office, Web Design and Multimedia Techniques in Photoshop from 2004 to 2005.
Career
Suchana Seth began her career as a researcher at the Raman Research Institute in Bangalore from 2008 to 2011. During this time, she applied statistical mechanics to solve problems in Polymer Physics, using programming languages such as C/C++. She also participated in conferences and schools focused on Statistical Physics to expand her knowledge.
Following this, she worked as a freelance editor at Cactus Communications from 2011 to 2012. Her responsibilities involved editing scientific manuscripts in various fields such as Physics, Statistics, Geophysics and Electronics to improve clarity, accuracy and presentation of ideas.
From 2012 to 2012, Suchana served as a senior statistics analyst at Geschickten Biosciences (now InterpretOmics). Here, she used data mining techniques such as association rules, clustering methods, and principal component analysis to explore connections between protein binding data and gene expression data.
He also developed R scripts for data quality assessment, cleaning, exploratory analysis, visualization, hypothesis testing and statistical analysis. Additionally, he led training sessions for colleagues on the use of R programming.
Moving forward, Suchana joined as an Analytics Consultant and was later promoted to Senior Analytics Consultant, from November 2012 to November 2014. During her tenure, she designed, prototyped and implemented a real-time recommendation engine using technical text mining and machine learning.
His work involved applying text mining and natural language processing techniques to customer interaction data. He also used machine learning models on clickstream data to predict customer behavior and optimize engagement. In particular, he filed two provisional patents in the areas of text mining and natural language processing.
Continuing her career, she became a Senior Data Scientist at Boomerang Commerce from December 2014 to March 2016. Here, her focus was on data-driven product design for optimization and pricing intelligence.
Suchana was then selected as a Ford – Mozilla Open Web Fellow at the Data & Society Research Institute from September 2016 to 2017. Her role focused on addressing data ethics challenges in real-world scenarios.
He subsequently became involved with the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University, beginning as a fellow from September 2017 to August 2018, followed by an affiliate position from September 2018 to August 2019. His work focused primarily in the ethics and governance of Artificial Intelligence, emphasizing responsible machine learning.
Currently, Suchana is the founder of The Mindful AI Lab, a position she has held since 2020. In this role, she leads the lab’s efforts, presumably focusing on the development of conscious and ethical AI.
Controversy
This is a distressing incident involving Suchana Seth. After checking into a rented apartment in North Goa with his son, he left for Bengaluru by taxi, despite suggestions to take a cheaper flight. When staff went to clean the room after her departure, they discovered blood stains on a towel and noticed that her son was missing and that she had an unusually heavy bag. Concerned, they contacted the police.
When asked about the blood stains and the whereabouts of her son, Suchana explained that the stains were due to her monthly period and claimed that her son was with a friend in Margao city. However, investigations revealed that the address she provided was false. The police traced her taxi ride and on reaching Chitradurga district in Karnataka, discovered the girl’s body in her bag.
The authorities obtained a remand to bring Suchana back to Goa after this tragic discovery in Chitradurga.
