He was the Deputy Chairman of the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore Academy of Law’s Member of the Senate, and the Singapore Management University School of Law’s Advisory Board Chairman.
He served as the Attorney-General till June 2012 and then in August 2012, he was appointed a Judge of the Court of Appeal. On November 6, 2012, he became the fourth Chief Justice of Singapore and the first to be born in the country.
