Although baffled by how close he came, the drunk driver gave officers clear coordinates of where the collision almost occurred and the perfect opportunity to pursue him.
When an officer stopped the man moments later, the driver immediately realized what he had done.
“Do you know why I stopped you?” the officer asked.

“Yes, because I was on the wrong side of the road,” the man responded, attributing the mistake to a missed exit.
The driver was caught with a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit, prompting police to arrest him and put him in the back of the patrol car.
The man instantly confessed to calling 911 when the officer realized who he had in custody.
“Yeah, because I thought somebody was on the wrong side of the damn road, bro,” he said.
“But it turned out to be you?” the deputy asked.
“Yeah, like an idiot,” the drunk driver admitted.
