Biography
Taran Bajaj hails from Shahjahanpur district, Uttar Pradesh. He comes from a middle class Sikh family. Bajaj completed his studies at St. Paul’s Inter College, Shahjahanpur.
Bajaj was a theater artist in the beginning. He acted in the play Shahedo Tumhe Naman staged in Mumbai in 2006 by Yuvak Biradri, owned by Ms. Jaya Bachchan. He used to play characters like Saheed Bhagat Singh, Kartar Singh and Uddham Singh. In 2009, Taran moved permanently to Mumbai and started working as an associate casting and cameo director in films.
Bajaj made his debut as a casting director with Remo D’Souza’s FALTU in 2011 as an associate casting director, followed by Love Express, Bubble Gum and Mausam in the same year. He was a part of several popular films like Son of Sardaar Fukrey, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara! etc Bajaj is one of the most successful casting directors in India.
