Josh clearly had plans of his own, while many aspiring actors and actresses try to break into the industry through grueling casting auditions, years of acting school, and some good old-fashioned nepotism.
It turns out that all it takes to be on a great TV show and have a chance at fame is a little hard work, devotion, and numerous TikTok videos showing him lying on the ground acting dead.
Josh posted countless videos of himself acting dead in the hopes that a TV show would use him as a corpse in one of its episodes.
CSI: Vegas contacted the Kentucky boy after hearing about the viral star and gave him the chance to play a corpse in one of his episodes, and in a strange twist of fate 321 days later, the Kentucky man’s request was finally granted. .
He has no prior acting experience.
He admitted to the Courier Journal that he had no prior acting training, but that years of practice had helped him develop his ability to portray a corpse more convincingly.
“I don’t like to talk on camera, but I can lie there and act like I’m dead very easily,” the man admitted.
“Now that I’ve shared over 300 of these posts, I’ve gotten better. Initially you could see me breathe, or the fake blood looked awful. I stopped using the blood and my ability to hold my breath improved.”
Josh realized that the secret to reproducing a believable shot of a dead body was to have movement in the video so it didn’t just look like the photo. So while he was still, his environment was animated and mobile.
According to him, the inspiration for the idea came from seeing a woman posting about hot sauce on TikTok and getting a ton of offers from merchants. This made her wonder if she could achieve the same by portraying a dead body on television.
However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for him while on set; he revealed that he accidentally messed up a take by leaving his phone on and, of course, a telemarketer decided to call him at the wrong time.
Josh has plenty of other invites to play a corpse in other movies, so maybe his shot at fame is just beginning. Despite this, he has no plans to quit his day job as a restaurant manager.
Perseverance pays after all. Go on with your dreams.
