Given the condition of transportation in Bengaluru, a recent tweet showing off outrageously low auto fares on Uber left Desi Twitter in splits. User Mahima Chandak, a product designer who resides in Bengaluru, shared a jaw-dropping price drop she received after using a promotional code for an Uber ride.

According to the screenshot, Chandak was trying to get a ride to a locality in Indiranagar. While her initial ride fare came out to be around Rs 46, after applying the promo code, she was presently surprised when the fare dropped and all she was left with was a ride fare worth Rs 6.

This has to be a bug pic.twitter.com/X2gyUCLLNU

Expectedly, people on the Internet were completely flabbergasted by the low price of the ride. The fare was especially a shocker to the locals who live in Bengaluru and have experienced appalling price hikes during peak hours in the city.

Twitter Rooted For Chandak To Get The Ride

People on Twitter hoped that the user got to take the ride and even wondered how the auto driver would have reacted to the ride fare. The situation was unexpected, and many wondered if there was a bug in the app that led to the drastic price drop.

One wondered what would happen if the base price dropped lower than Rs 40, assuming that the promo code helped deduct the base price of the fare, leaving only Rs 6 as the final fare for the ride.

Wonder what’ll happen if fare goes below Rs. 40, assuming that’s not the base fare.

While others rejoiced in Chandak’s unlikely lucky strike on the app. One joked about the surprising situation with an Akshay Kumar meme.

However, some felt that the price drop was unfair to the driver, who gained practically nothing from the ride. One predicted that any auto driver would reject the ride if they saw the price flashing on their screens.

That’s unfare

The auto guy will cancel it anyways 😂

If you are wondering why this coincidence was such a shocker for Bengaluru locals, then here’s a previous happening that will open your eyes to the monster that is peak Bengaluru hours. An Uber ride from Bengaluru Airport to Electronic City recently sparked outrage on the internet when the app suggested a ride for Rs 2,584 and Rs 4,051 with Uber XL.
