They find the body of a dead girl in the bathroom of an English pub

The body of a baby girl, believed to have been stillborn, was found in the bathroom of an English pub over the weekend, as officials search for the baby’s mother, who they fear is in “urgent” need of medical attention.

Emergency crews were called to the Three Horse Shoes pub in Oulton, Leeds, shortly before 5pm on Sunday and discovered the baby dead.

Police called the discovery a “tragic incident” and that evidence suggested the baby’s death was “a stillbirth,” which may have occurred in the bathroom where she was found, The Guardian reported.

Detective James Entwistle of West Yorkshire Police said they are “making an urgent appeal” for the baby’s mother to contact them or seek medical attention.

“From a law enforcement perspective, I just want to be very clear. “I’m not here to arrest him, I’m not here to arrest anyone else,” Entwistle said during a news conference.

“I’m here to make sure I understand what happened and that you get the medical care you need.”

Karen Sykes, head of safeguarding at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust, urged the mother to come forward.

“We are genuinely concerned for your medical, physical and emotional well-being at this time and urgently ask that you seek medical help and advice,” Sykes said.

The pub’s owners addressed the tragic situation, writing on social media: “I’ve been writing post after post for the last hour but I don’t think now is the best time given the circumstances… We’re sure there is speculation. about something that happened in our establishment tonight.”

“All I can say right now is that I’m sorry for everyone who was with us during the time this happened and for everyone who was supposed to come and couldn’t,” they continued.

“A huge thank you to those who helped us while we fought as a team. “It really doesn’t go unnoticed.”

West Yorkshire Police launched a “full investigation” into the discovery, with help from the NHS, although their main concern was the mother’s health.

“Our top priority remains the mother’s well-being and safety,” Entwistle added.

“We urgently appeal to the girl’s mother to contact us or seek medical help as she has been through an extremely traumatic experience and may well need treatment,” he said.

The pub remained closed on Monday.
