The alleged thief reportedly fled from a service station in Carlingford, located northwest of Sydney, in a van carrying a staggering 10,000 donuts while the driver was inside settling payment at around 3.30am.
The van was on its way to Newcastle, prepared for multiple deliveries spanning a variety of donuts, from Christmas themed to much-loved classic variations.

Why was this bad news for customers?
People who were planning to arrive at the candy chain’s nearby locations in Newcastle are said to have had a bad idea after discovering that most of the donuts did not arrive at the locations to be restocked.
However, the staff involved did everything they could to rectify the situation. Head of supply chain Lenny Reddy said: “Our Krispy Kreme team is working to replace the 10,000 stolen donuts, which are hand-made and fresh each day, at their intended destinations.”
