A group of thieves stole at least 60 generators from former President Donald Trump’s National Doral Miami golf resort after attacking the property twice in a matter of hours on Monday, two weeks before a golf tournament was scheduled to take place LIV .
Surveillance video shows a white Ford F-150 pickup truck pulling into the complex’s maintenance area around 5 p.m., which is nothing out of the ordinary except that the driver took 30 generators, police said.
“The incident that occurred in daylight was in an area that was not secured,” Doral Police Chief Edwin Lopez told WPLG. “These individuals posed as construction workers who were able to enter and access the area.”

Five hours later, police said, the thieves returned in a white van and stole another 30 generators.
“During the overnight hours, they cut some fences and were able to access the same area,” Lopez said.
The generators had been stored on the property prior to a LIV golf tournament. Local 10 police are investigating whether the robbers had inside help.

Security personnel were on scene at the time of both robberies, police said.
Police said they have not yet determined whether the robbers received help from inside, but said detectives have already identified multiple clues.
Up to four people may have been involved. Police said the robbery appears to be related to others throughout Miami-Dade County.
“We’re not really making any determinations at this time, but we are aggressively looking to identify these people,” López told the outlet.
