Biden, who trails Trump in most polls, initially said he would not comment on Tuesday night’s court ruling before proceeding to do exactly that upon arriving in Milwaukee for a speech focused on the economy.
“I’m not going to comment on a court case… That’s up to the court and that’s all I have to say about it,” the 81-year-old president began while addressing reporters near Air Force One.
But Biden couldn’t resist addressing the case when a reporter asked Trump, “Is he an insurrectionist?”
“Well, I think that’s obvious,” the president responded. “You saw it all. Now, if the 14th Amendment applies, I’ll let the court make that decision.
“But he certainly supported an insurrection,” Biden continued. “No doubt about it. None. Zero. And he seems to be redoubling his efforts in everything.”
