Trump warns that ‘Biden’s accusations’ against him opened ‘Pandora’s box’: ‘Joe, be very careful what you wish for’

Former President Donald Trump addressed a raucous crowd chanting his name at Cipriani’s flagship location on New York’s Wall Street on Saturday night, rallying the faithful and warning President Biden that impeaching a former commander in chief would be a two-way street if he returned to the White House.

“It has opened a Pandora’s box that will never allow our country to be the same again. All I can say to Joe is: Be very careful what you wish for, but what you’ve done is a terrible thing,” Trump thundered before approximately 1,000 gathered guests, who dined on wild mushroom risotto and filet mignon.

The elegant event was sponsored by the Young Republican Club of New York.

“I am being accused by you. These are not accusations in the traditional sense. “These are accusations by Biden against his political opponent,” said the 77-year-old favorite for 2024.

Trump faces 91 felony charges in four separate state and federal investigations, something he repeatedly boasted about.

“I’m the first indicted man whose poll numbers went up,” he joked while comparing himself to notorious gangster Al Capone.

Trump vowed to win the Republican primaries and the White House in the 2024 presidential election, and said he would even win the deep blue Empire State.

“We’re going to take New York,” Trump said to applause. “I think we have a great opportunity…With hundreds of thousands of people living on the sidewalks and streets and illegal aliens invading our city and state like no one thought possible.”

Trump also took on his political enemies, mocking Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis as “DeSanctimonious” and his former ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, as a “brain.” He fiercely attacked New York Attorney General Letitia James, calling her a “hidden James” and a “vicious lunatic.”

Trump spoke after a long evening that also included comments from Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) and Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.).

About 30 minutes before speaking, Trump enjoyed dinner at a cordoned-off table and was seen in deep conversation with the president of the New York Young Republican Club, Gavin Wax. He was also briefly able to enjoy a personal serenade by Hungarian violinist Zoltan Maga.

Emcee Alex Stein downplayed Trump’s legal problems by joking that he hoped the former president went to jail because it would help with “the black vote.”

Among those seen at a VIP cocktail party before the ceremonies were Rep. Cory Mills (R-Fla.), Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) and Andrew Giuliani. Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon also bought his own table for the event, where individual tickets cost about $700 per person.

Also in attendance were Republican New York City Councilmembers Vickie Paladino and Inna Vernikov. Vernikova herself was honored by Trump on stage, who noted approvingly that he kept reading about her in the press.

“That’s why I wanted to see her,” Trump said after exchanging a kiss on both cheeks.

“Well, that wasn’t planned,” Vernikov texted the Post from his table.

Former New England Patriots defensive end Jake Bequette was also present, wearing a Super Bowl ring with which he allowed his fans to pose for photographs. Vish Burra, a top aide to former Rep. George Santos, who was expelled from Congress last week after a series of corruption allegations, was also seen chatting and defending his former boss, whom he affectionately called “the Princess Diana of our generation”. ”

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani sat at a table with his former NYPD Commissioner Bernard Kerik.

As in previous years, the event has an international feel. Miklos Szantho, director of the right-wing Hungarian Center for Fundamental Rights, and Hungary’s ambassador to the United States, Szabolcs Takács, delivered brief remarks from the main stage.
