Tunde Sabiu has been arrested
Former President Muhammadu Buhari has traveled to London, United Kingdom, along with his “powerful” nephew Mamman Daura, his personal secretary, and another nephew, Sabiu “Tunde” Yusuf. The three people, who were previously influential during Buhari’s Aso Rock Villa period, left the country on a private plane provided by billionaire industrialist Alhaji Aliko Dangote, according to reports published Tuesday. The reporters also learned that the Department of State Services, Nigeria’s secret police, had put increasing pressure on them to deport them due to Sabiu’s involvement in numerous fraudulent schemes over the past eight years.
Godwin Emefiele, the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and Abdulrasheed Bawa, the suspended Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), are already members of the DSS. “Former President Buhari, his nephew Mamman Daura, Private Secretary Tunde Sabiu, and all of them have left the country and are currently in London. According to a reliable source, Daura and Buhari are recovering in a London hospital. The source continued: “This comes after the DSS put pressure on Mr. Tunde Sabiu to arrest him after learning that he was involved in all the corrupt schemes that have drained the Nigerian economy for the past eight years.”
