Twitter user asks for advice on how to overcome his addiction to buttermilk

Twitter user Apoorv posted a picture of his many tetra packs of buttermilk that he had hidden away to drink throughout the day and wrote: “Please tell me how to overcome amul masti addiction.” Although it seems unlikely that the man is actually addicted to buttermilk and isn’t just using classic hyperbole to express his love for the desi drink, Twitter users still offered to help him kick the habit.

While people are addicted to many dangerous substances that can ultimately prove fatal, Apoorv’s choice of drink was much more subtle and acceptable. However, that doesn’t mean the answers he received were any less intriguing.

This is how the internet reacted to the man’s query

One user gave up before even trying it, commenting, “In my experience, this is not possible.”

Another thought was that Apporv was a fool to even consider giving up: “The real question is, ‘why do you want to do it?’ It’s a big addiction.”

What is whey?

For those who don’t know what buttermilk is yet, “it’s a fermented milk drink. Traditionally, it was the liquid that was left over after creaming butter with cultured cream.” The drink is excellent for the digestive system as it contains healthy bacteria and lactic acid, which improve digestion and metabolism.
