Who created the automatic paddle shift?
An Uber driver named Durai has created the automatic shifter for his cab.
What made Durai create the shifter?
Durai, the driver in question, adjusted the automatic gear lever on the dashboard of his cab after experiencing shoulder pain from changing gears frequently.
Parth Parmar, a tech enthusiast from Bengaluru, came across this remarkable modification during his trip from Marathahalli to HSR Layout and shared a video where Durai explains his inventive solution.
Expressing his admiration, Parmar said, “This Uber driver came up with a stick shift himself due to shoulder pain when shifting gears. The entire setup cost him $9,000! This innovation has significant potential. I hope he gets the benefit. support and guidance needed to succeed. India is abundant with talent.”
Parmar shared that many friends in Bengaluru have approached Durai requesting similar paddle shifters.
However, it has rejected these requests, stating that it is still perfecting the modification.
