A man in Bengaluru was outraged when he reportedly discovered a live snail in a salad he bought from a local restaurant through food delivery app Swiggy.

Dhaval Singh took to X (formerly Twitter) to report his ordeal and warn other customers. He also posted a video of the live snail on top of vegetables in the salad he bought at Leon Grill, a local restaurant chain.
“I will never order from @LeonGrill again!” he stated in his post. He concluded with the following: “Swiggy, do everything you can to make sure this shit doesn’t happen to others… people of Bengaluru, take note.”
What did he show in the video?
The video showed a salad bowl with a small snail on top of some vegetables. The bug can also be seen moving in the video. Singh noted in the comments section of the post that not only did he receive contaminated salad but his drink order was also wrong.
How did Swiggy react?
To make matters worse, he claimed that after filing a complaint with Swiggy, the meal delivery service only provided him with half of the refund. Swiggy, on the other hand, quickly refunded the full amount of Mr. Singh’s order.

The food delivery platform contacted Singh on X and asked him to reveal the details of his order. The situation was also described as “terrible” by the company.
“Swiggy should immediately blacklist the restaurant! I have also eaten food from this restaurant that was reheated or spoiled,” one consumer commented. “For me it’s no surprise. It’s over. Worse hygiene, care and responsibility,” said another.
“How outrageous! Swiggy has become illiterate recently. A few days ago, their delivery boy stole my order and their customer service confirmed it. It took them about 20 days to refund me and I had to ask every day. Phew! It was annoying,” said a third user.
