UP A man steals Shivling from the temple after his prayers to marry the woman he loves go unanswered

Many of us tend to think of God when we want something or are going through difficult times. It is common to seek help or comfort from a higher power during difficult times. However, the wait can be long and frustrating.

A man named Chhotu (27) stole a Shivling from a temple in the Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh.

His motivation stemmed from a desire to marry the woman he loved, a desire that seemed unfulfilled due to family objections.

Chhotu’s actions were driven by his hope that divine intervention, through prayers to Lord Shiva, could convince his family to accept his choice of life partner. Chhotu has since been apprehended by the police and successfully recovered the stolen Shivling.

According to local residents, Chhotu made it a daily routine to visit the village’s Shiva temple every morning.

He strongly believed that his unwavering devotion would eventually influence his family members to change their minds.

Despite diligently offering prayers at the Shiva temple for an entire month, Chhotu did not witness any perceptible change in his circumstances.

According to police, he resorted to stealing the Shivling in response to this frustration.

On Wednesday, circle officer (CO) Abhishek Kumar of the area spoke to news agency PTI and said, “Chhotu stole the Shivling from the temple early on September 1 and hid it in the bushes.”

Upon discovering the Shivling’s absence from the temple, the concerned villagers immediately notified the police. A team from the Mahewa Ghat Police Station rushed to the village to launch a thorough investigation.

“We detained Chhotu as a suspect on September 3. He later confessed to his crime,” the officer said. The police team also recovered the Shivling from the bushes.

The stolen Shivling was returned to the temple.

The defendant has been taken into judicial custody. Uttar Pradesh Minister Satish Sharma faced criticism recently. A video showed him washing his hands in a Shivling at Barabanki’s Lodheshwar Mahadev temple.

The video shows him using the ‘argha’, or the base of the Shivling, with the help of a priest.

The Congress and the Samajwadi Party called for the resignation of the minister, accusing him of disrespecting Sanatan Dharma. Satish Sharma defended himself by stating that he had done nothing wrong and that the priest would have intervened if he had.
