VIDEO: American students make a ‘mess’ when listening to Snail Soup

One of the most recognized Honduran songs worldwide is ‘Sopa de Caracol’ by Banda Blanca, which makes young and old alike dance.

This is the case of a group of students from the United States who are learning Spanish and Latin American culture, from teacher Rebeca Smith.

The Salvadoran teacher, based in the North American country, was teaching the class last Friday, where she first told them about her country, its typical foods.

When Honduras’s turn came, he played the song for them and the rhythm took over them, the educator stated.

“And the Snail Soup was to blame for the mess,” she wrote in the description where only she looks at herself, due to the policies of the institute where she works.

Even though you don’t look at the young Americans, you can hear their laughter and screams, and by Rebeca’s gesture you can see that they were excited.

“How nice to see how they learn the culture and gastronomy of my beautiful Honduras”; “It is impossible to sit still when listening to Sopa de Caracol” and “with everything and the disorder, they learn,” are some comments.

The teacher has 70 thousand followers on TikTok, where she shares part of her classes, where she dynamically teaches Spanish to her students.

It was in 21991 that the success of the extinct group Banda Blanca was released, of which Juan Pompilio ‘Pilo’ Tejeda Duarte was the vocalist.

Its global success was so great that on March 16 of that year it reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Tracks; He also gave a silver seagull to Banda Blanca on February 12, 1992 at the XXXIII Viña del Mar International Song Festival.

There have been several versions of this song, one in 2002 by the Argentine band, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs; another by Elvis Crespo & Pitbull in 2020, and the Honduran one in 2011 where Pilo Tejeda participates again with Polache and Franoman.
