The creation of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is Vikram Sarabhai’s greatest achievement. When he returned from Cambridge University, he convinced the newly formed government of the need and importance of the Space Center in India. And that’s how the ISRO was formed.

He enjoys doing research work and at the time of his studies he was a brilliant student. After completing his studies, he pursued his higher studies at Gujarati College, Ahmedabad. After that, he moved to England and was admitted to Cambridge University, and in 1940 he took his final examination with Honors in Natural Sciences.
After World War II ended, he was re-admitted to Cambridge University and began his PhD, and in 1945 submitted a thesis on “Cosmic Ray Research in Tropical Latitudes”. In his life he has done many incredible things. At the age of 28 he founded the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) and installed it near his house in Ahmedabad.
